WINTER 2008-09 Student Comments

I have started my nursing courses and without the support and tools you provided, this would be a very difficult task.  I feel confident I will succeed and want to let you know how grateful I am that I had you as my "communication and writing" professor.  Your style and support was just what I needed and I admire the professional attitude of tough caring support you shared with me.

 I believe this class was the best environment to prepare for success as I move along in my professional goal of completing my Masters program by summer 2011.  Again, thank you for your support.

I wanted you to know how important your class was to me. I am in the midst of a new class now, and I am actually able to see others’ writing in a scholarly manner. I can make suggestions, and I see the errors that I never thought I'd understand. Thank you!

This class has helped me examine my options and goals. I would take this class repeatedly during my time at Walden, I found it to be so beneficial. I enjoyed working with you. You are an outstanding teacher and set a very high standard for other Walden faculty members to live up to. Thank you for taking our education seriously.

Mrs. B, thank you for the midnight oil you burned for our benefit. Right now I'm still feeling the growing pains, but this has been one of the most stimulating class I have ever taken. Your detailed reviews and comments are appreciated, and have stretched me to higher writing standards.

The instructor, Mrs. B., was so helpful in providing examples for every paper and project. She also provided information on correct writing and APA style. Everything I have learned from this class will be so helpful in my future courses in the MSN Program.

My advice for students is to try not to get overwhelmed. It is a lot of hard work, but you will get through it.  Mrs. B. is wonderful in helping students learn and succeed.  

With as busy as I was, I really enjoyed our class and I learned alot from it.  I have book marked all the helpful links you gave us; I know I will be needing them again in the future.

Thank you so much for all your work to teach, support, and encourage me.  I've learned many things that I will use as a foundation to continue my education.

Thank you for your comments and guidance.   This was a GREAT project and it was fun. Online coordination of a project takes cooperation to a whole new level.

I greatly appreciate your weekly comments about my posts and assignments. I take them to heart and have learned SOOOOO MUCH from this class !

Leslie Bowman is absolutely one of the best instructors I have had at Walden; she encourages thinking about abstract issues and makes coursework relevant to real life issues.

Professor Bowman inspired learning, we benefitted from what we learned. It was an adjustment to learn to write how she wanted rather than how I was use to, as no one ever corrected the manner in which I write prior to this course. Professor Bowman is tough, but I feel as though I am a better writer as a result.
